The Universe on Your Wrist – Astronomia Sky by Jacob&Co

“As a sailor who sails to the sea guided by the stars, I have found my star: the astronomical sky” – Jacob Arabo, Founder of Jacob & Co. luxury replica watches

Jacob&Co has carved out a niche in the world of haute horlogerie with its Grand Complication Masterpieces collection. These watches are incredibly beautiful both as timepieces and as jewellery.

On the first day of this year, I wrote about the Astronomia Tourbillon to celebrate the past year and to start the new year on a good note. This year at Baselworld, I had the pleasure of admiring the new Astronomia Sky – a beautiful and powerful complex mechanical watch with a breathtaking astronomical complication.

Despite its 47mm diameter and 25mm thickness, the miniature universe on your wrist is still breathtaking. The 18K rose gold case is set with a circle of sapphires on the side, allowing a clear view of the movement and the starry sky elements.

The caseback is made of 18K rose gold and features a “bow” structure that can be raised and lowered to facilitate manual winding and time setting. Two other delicate gears are located on both sides of the caseback for synchronizing sidereal time: a celestial dial and an oval star indicator. Between the slender open lugs, the wearing side is engraved with the Jacob&Co brand name and a tip for the month display. high quality replica watches

This otherworldly timepiece is topped with a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and is water-resistant to 30 meters/3 atmospheres.

The Astronomia Sky Tourbillon watch has a beautiful dial, with the bottom celestial dial covering the inner wall of the case, made of grade 5 blue titanium, and hand-engraved and inlaid with 18K gold with beautiful stars and zodiac constellations visible in the northern hemisphere. It takes one sidereal year for the stars to rotate once, and the side shows the 12 months. The oval star visibility indicator is made of gold and requires one sidereal day (or 23.5640916 hours) to complete one rotation of the dial.

Daily time indication is completed by a hand-tilted polished titanium subdial with lacquered hour markers and a differential gear system to always keep it in the correct viewing position, and the correct time is displayed by hand-polished blue minute and hour hands.

In the center of the dial is a hand-engraved titanium globe, beautifully painted, which rotates on two axes: one rotation on its own axis in 24 hours - representing the revolution of the Earth; and one rotation on the central axis through the sky in 20 minutes - one rotation of the entire movement.

Above the globe is a colored semi-domed sapphire, symbolizing day and night, and used to indicate the 24 hours. men replica watches

15 minutes clockwise from the time subdial is the orbital seconds hand, which rotates on the central axis in 20 minutes and has a fixed hand indicating the seconds on a hollow titanium gear. On the other side of the orbital seconds hand is a 1 carat, 288-faceted, patented Jacob-cut orange sapphire, a breathtaking view.

It is important to note that all elements are perfectly weighted and balanced to ensure symmetrical loads on all axes.

The Jacob&Co Gravity Tri-Axis Tourbillon watch, with its extraordinary tourbillon, rotates on the first axis in one minute, on the second axis in five minutes and, together with all components, on the third axis in twenty minutes. Jacob&Co's Astronomia Sky watch is limited to 18 pieces, and the white gold version is even more special.

These beautiful watches are paired with an alligator leather strap and a gold folding clasp. The "bow" back and gear design of the Astronomia
Sky watch make it very simple to set up. For more explanation, please watch the video below. The entire watch rotates once every 20 minutes, and its dynamic movement architecture makes it a fascinating watch at any time. The movement is visible from the top and side: a 40 mm diameter manual-winding movement that is only 17.15 mm thick, thanks to the many components it uses. It has 395 parts, 42 jewels, beats at 3 Hz (or 21,600 vph), and has a power reserve of 60 hours. It is made primarily of titanium, a very light and durable material that is extremely difficult to machine. Even so, its finishing is enough to put any movement in steel or other alloys to shame: the mainplate and bridges are brushed (etirage), beveled and polished by hand, with circular graining (perlage) on the edges, polished grooves and screws. The whole movement is a delight to the eye. https://www.grand-watch.co
